Hello my furry friends! My name is Chloe, I believe I am a chihuahua/cocker spaniel mix.
I was seven months old when my wonderful humans rescued me from the shelter. It truly was the best day of my life. My humans don’t know much about me except that I was roaming the streets of Jersey City, NJ all alone at four months. Someone picked me up who took care of me for two months but was not able to keep me, so off to the shelter I went.
Luckily, my humans saw me and immediately wanted me to be a part of their family. It has not been an easy journey. I had a bad case of separation anxiety which has eased up a little over time with much love and dedication. I am always a little nervous when my humans leave but I know now they will always come back.
I get many park trips during the week and many treats. Mom also makes me yummy, healthy homemade food. I love to show my appreciation through many wet kisses. My parents think it’s hilarious how I love to hide bones around the apartment and chase squirrels around the park.
Overall, I am a very happy girl, adoption is truly the way to go. A lot of doggies like me need homes and not many are as fortunate as I am. But that can change if people start realizing how giving a shelter dog a home is the greatest gift they can give to the dog and themselves. Adoption makes all the difference in the world. My parents always say they didn’t rescue me, but I rescued them 🙂 -Chloe’s Mom
