The Story Of Frank: The Owner Chooser

Five years ago, my friend’s dog, Frank, was diagnosed that he has Measles and a very bad skin disease. He was left untreated without medication due to the cost of the medication, and my friend couldn’t afford to pay. I felt bad about his luck, so I asked if I can take him into my family and I would take care of him while treating his illness, even though his chance of survival was very low.

After a month of being in and out of the animal hospital, a miracle happened. Frank was doing great without any recurring disease.  When he completely recovered, I give him back to my friend’s family. We were very happy to see Frank survived and was reunited with his home.

Then something happened. Frank stopped eating and would just sit by the door for 3 days straight. My friend knew that Frank missed my family.  My friend asked me if I would like to have him forever and I was very happy to be able to have a new family member.

When Frank got to my house again, he immediately ate his food. He ate so much and fell asleep right next to his bowl! My friend and I knew he was now a part of my family.  And that’s how give him the nick name “The Owner Chooser.”

Having Frank in my family is the best gift I’ve ever received. He helped me get though many tough times especially now that I’m dealing with cancer. When I was in pain, he never left me. When I use a restroom, he will wait in front of the restroom to make sure I’m ok. Until now, I still can’t believe he is trying to save me after I saved him once. He is a great family member and I could never ask for more. – Frank’s Mom
