It was just a normal day. I remember I was on my break and I was walking around to get out of a pharmacy where I worked. I heard someone calling me. She was a pet store owner that I bought a lot of pet accessories for my girls “je t’aime” & “je’bell”
She asked me if I wanted a 1 year old male beagle because her client needed to let him go. She told me that they were having a baby and they couldn’t keep the dog since he was running around a lot. So please study a dog or any pet behavior before considering adopting them! Fast forward, I finally convinced my parents to accept one more boy.
Before I adopted him, I was told that he was a very energetic puppy and that was the reason the previous owners had to get rid of him. But what I saw was a very cute puppy that was very quiet. It was so clear he missed the previous owners. We all know when a dog gives you their heart, they give it all. So I understood he was missing his ex-parents badly. Luckily I had one of my beagle daughters at my apartment at the time. She really helped him to open up more.
It took him awhile to behave like beagle again. He is now a very happy boy along with the gang. He is the one who will calm the girls down when they get too excited for ….everything.
Recently I ran into the previous owners at a pet store. Guess what …they got a new Pomeranian …sigh! I just hope this time they keep the dog after awhile. It doesn’t matter if you buy, adopt or rescue animals, please do your homework researching what you are getting into. Don’t just have them and get rid of them when they are less cute. Don’t be one of those people who create big scares on animal’s hearts. Because when they love you, they give you all they have. One thing I know is that Buay is one of the best gifts I have ever had and he will never get a new owner. – Buay’s Mom
