Late January 2015 we heard meowing under our house and we thought it was the neighbors cat under our house and since it was evening we brought our flash light only to find a 3 month old kitten under our house hungry and super scared.
I fed it lunch meat since that is all we had and it ate it like it hadn’t eaten in a week. We thought it might be a feral cat by the way it was scared and I wondered if it wasn’t a feral kitten then maybe it hadn’t been touched in a long time. I also wondered if it wasn’t a feral kitten then who would drop off this sweet kitty. After a couple days we decided we would keep it and get him fixed and love him regardless if we could ever touch him.
We had a cat who had passed away and had her for 20 years and missed how a animal around can bring you so much love and joy and fill your home with laughs by the funny things they do. This had been missing from our home for a few years.
It had taken us a week to earn the kittens trust and got him a tiny bit closer to us by throwing him kitty treats at least a dozen times a day and talking to him. We earned his trust and finally got to touch him and hold him and he wasn’t a feral kitty but a frightened kitty. We named him Charlie and he has filled our home with lots of love and I miss him when I am gone for a few hours.
Our cat loves us unconditionally and is a great hunter whom we call Charlie the cow kitty due to his spots and is spoiled (in a good way). I am glad Charlie found his way to us and that we found each other. – Charlie’s Mom
